Legal identity

Homefold is operated by ALPHRIZE LABS PTY LTD, trading under the business name homefold. For privacy, support, deletion, export, or complaint requests, contact [email protected].

How Homefold is organized

Homefold has three layers, each with a different visibility boundary:

  • Personal — a private space that only you can see, including your private calendar, plans, tasks, and records.
  • Home — a shared space for a household (solo, couple, or family). Content is visible to the members of that Home.
  • Public Events — events you choose to share with people outside your household by link, QR code, or invite code.

What we collect

  • Account and profile data, including email address, password authentication state, Apple Sign In identifiers, display name, Home invite links or codes, account settings, and active sessions.
  • Personal space content you add, including private calendar entries, events, tasks, reminders, summaries, notes, and personal records that are visible only to you.
  • Home space content, including the Home type (solo, couple, or family), member names and roles, shared calendar entries, shared tasks, household notices, family records, and guardian-managed information.
  • Family inbox content you choose to add, including notices, pasted text, imported documents, screenshots, images, files, PDFs, document titles, summaries, tasks, contacts, and dates.
  • Public Event content, including event details, the public link, QR code, or invite code, participant and RSVP lists, and information that participants provide when they join.
  • Uploaded files and related metadata, such as filename, file type, upload time, processing state, and the space that owns the content.
  • Support and privacy request information you send to us, including email address, request details, and troubleshooting context.
  • Basic service records needed for security, reliability, content moderation, account deletion, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.

Device permissions

Homefold asks for device access only when a feature needs it.

  • Camera access is used to scan QR codes for joining a Home or a Public Event and, where available, to help capture a notice.
  • Calendar access is optional and is used to display system calendar events alongside your Homefold calendar.
  • Reminders access is optional and is used to display system reminders beside Homefold tasks.
  • File import is controlled by the iOS document picker. Homefold receives only the file you select.

How we use information

We use information to provide app functionality, support household organization, sync and manage accounts, keep your Personal space private, run shared Home spaces, organize notices into documents and tasks, host and moderate Public Events, connect invited participants to events, respond to support requests, protect security, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.

For the first iOS App Store release in Australia and New Zealand, Homefold is free and does not include subscriptions, in-app purchases, a paywall, or purchase records. Homefold v1 does not use third-party advertising tracking, does not share data with data brokers, and does not track users across other companies' apps or websites.

Based on the current iOS app implementation, Homefold v1 does not include a third-party crash or performance diagnostics SDK and does not include an app product-event measurement SDK. The Homefold backend may still keep limited service logs needed for security, reliability, fraud prevention, abuse handling, and legal compliance.

Personal, Home, and visibility

Personal content is private to you by default. Home content can be seen by the members of that Home. When you move or share something into a Home, the members of that Home may see it. Please add to a Home only information you are comfortable sharing with its members.

Public Events and shared content

Public Events let you invite people outside your household. When you publish a Public Event, the details you include become visible to anyone who has the link, QR code, or invite code, and to participants who join. Information a participant provides when joining or RSVPing may be visible to the event organizer and, where relevant, to other participants.

Public Events and shared content are user-generated. We do not allow objectionable, unlawful, or abusive content. Anyone can report content, and organizers can remove participants or content in events they control. See our Community guidelines for reporting and moderation.

Family Homes and children

Homefold is intended for use by adults. It is not directed to children and is not a child social network or child profile product. A Family Home is a shared space for guardians and adult members to coordinate household life. Do not add sensitive information about a child that you are not authorized to manage, and add only what your household needs.

Storage, security, and retention

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorized access, modification, or disclosure. We keep information while your account is active, while needed to provide Homefold, or while required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, abuse-handling, or dispute-resolution purposes.

Retention periods depend on the type of record. User-submitted content is generally kept while the relevant account, Home, or Public Event remains active. Support and security records may be retained longer where needed to handle a request, investigate abuse, comply with law, or protect Homefold and its users.

Account deletion

Homefold includes an in-app account deletion request flow. In the iOS app, go to Profile > Settings > Delete account. You can also contact [email protected] for help with account deletion.

When deletion is processed, we delete or queue deletion of account data, your Personal space, and cloud Home and Public Event data you own or are authorized to delete, unless a minimum record must be retained for legal, security, anti-fraud, abuse-handling, or dispute purposes.

Privacy choices, deletion, and export

See Privacy choices for access, correction, deletion, export, withdrawal of consent, complaint, and restriction request options. See Account deletion and Data export for more detail.

Cross-border processing and subprocessors

Homefold may process information in Australia, New Zealand, or other countries where ALPHRIZE LABS PTY LTD or its service providers operate. When information is processed outside Australia or New Zealand, we take reasonable steps to use providers and safeguards appropriate for the service and the sensitivity of the information.

See Subprocessors for service provider categories, including hosting, backend operations, AI-assisted processing, website statistics, and support email.

Australia and New Zealand privacy rights

For Australian users, Homefold is developed with reference to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. These principles cover open and transparent handling of personal information, collection limits, use and disclosure, data quality, security, access, correction, and complaint handling.

For New Zealand users, Homefold is developed with reference to the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, including information privacy principles about collection, use, disclosure, storage, access, correction, and cross-border disclosure.
